The recent visit of A R Rahman to Berklee College of Music is becoming even more special for him as his song “Yeh jo des hai tera” from the movie Swades that the students sang for him has gone viral on YouTube.

Berklee College of Music conferred A. R. Rahman with an honorary doctor of music degree on October 24, 2014. By reciting the song, Berklee faculty and students paid tribute to the living legend who won Oscars for his original music score for the movie Slumdog Millionaire.

The visit of A R Rahman was a signature event under Berklee India Exchange, spearheaded by artistic director Annette Philip and artist relations and strategist Clint Valladares, both Berklee alums.
