NEW YORK: Chatwal Hotels & Resorts, headed by Indian American businessman Sant Singh Chatwal, and the Wyndham Hotel Group announced in New York on Wednesday that the two are teaming up to franchise and manage the former's Dream and Night hotel brands worldwide, including in India.
And, Chatwal Hotels will help the Wyndham family of hotels to expand its business in India. Soon after the deal was announced, we spoke to Sant Singh Chatwal, who immigrated to the United States in the 1970s, first ventured into the restaurant business, before becoming a successful hotelier. The Chatwal group owns and manages 14 hotels in four countries, including 10 in the United States and two in India. It currently operates the boutique Dream and Night hotels in New York, Bangkok and Kochi.
